Nitor and Helsinki Data Week join forces for the final meetup before HDW 2026! Join us at Nitor's Helsinki office for a meetup that goes beyond the buzzwords to explore how data and AI work gets done in practice and where it's heading next.

Eero Lihavainen and Jaakko Ahola are PhDs and Senior Data Scientists at Nitor and will showcase their hardcore data work and real-world case examples.

If you want a deep dive into the technical world of data science, this is your place.

  • Eero and Jaakko give a short introduction to what Data work looks like at Nitor.

• Just for fun: From inventory optimization to snack optimization

  • At Nitor, you can spend working hours developing your own skills. Jaakko has used his core time, in collaboration with the university, to focus on inventory optimization. This has stemmed from client work and led to academic research, but has also had tasty results by smoothing our office snack ordering process.

  • Two all-time struggles remain: how to deal with Excel and how to know the demand beforehand.

• Building production applications with Large Language Models

  • Eero shares some of his recent experiences on building LLM-based applications from prototype to production, and where he thinks the puck is going.
